In Trinidad and Tobago, law enforcement officials are celebrating their biggest drug bust for the year so far; some TT$500,000 worth of marijuana. Members of the Anti-Narcotics Squad in Trinidad had to mount a high speed chase on the islands south coast after spotting three suspects making a drop off in a pirogue. The three male suspects, were seen off-loading bags from their vessel. They were however able to outrun the coast guard vessel and were not captured. Trinidad police are enthusiastic about future busts and believe that the new radar recently installed on the San Fernando Hill played a key role in detecting the vessel, and will continue to play a major role in the fight against illegal trafficking on the coastlines.
