Chairman of the Ras Freeman Foundation for the Re-unification of Rastafari Franlyn King Frank-I Francis and Treasurer Kiyode Erasto Straker presented Antiguas Prime Minister with a petition to decriminalize marijuana. Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer promised to discuss the matter further with the Rastafarian community. The petition included over 1500 signatures. It noted the sacramental use of the herb and the potential for use of the hemp plant in industry and as a value to the economy of the island.

is tobbacco any better?
if tobbacco is legal so should marijuana be, and if marijuana is illegal so should the ciggarette be. it is quite true that a produced ciggarette with it's tar and ammonia is more dangerous than ganja in its natural state. if Jamaica's Government is trying to be "health concious" for it's people they should take that fact into consideration.

GANJA
Since the smoking of weed is so very predominant in Jamaica, I think it would be wise of the government to work with the people to meet a mutual agreement. as long as the are not carrying it to other countries where it is considered illegal I do not think it should be outlawed. Smoking weed is more than jus something to do for many, it is for religious purposes as well, because our beautiful nation does not hold prejudice against people for religion it should allow Rastafarians to be free to practise religious customs.
always one love. JAMAICA land we love
and respect!

Herb
Them should a legalize it from long time, I dont even know why it is illegal. Cigarettes can do more damage to u but the only reason them dont illegalise it is because the politicians are making money out of this industry. Weed is from the ground and God make it, just like some people say that pork is bad for u but other people say God make it so it is good. Isnt it the same. Jah know se me know some old people who bun herb and them older than what we might grow to.

the herb
Ganja has been around since the passage of time.....why now is its use been so demoralized and downplayed as so wrong. I think it is a just a political thing worldwide put forward by the fda to fight against ganja users..rastas and otherwise. There is no real reason why they have laws against it because there are many other depressants on the drug store shelves that do the same thing and worst but yet the fda endoreses it. So really and truly what kinda vibes the politicians a keep up
