The first person to die of mad cow disease in the USA has been identified as a Guyanese national. According to the Indian Express Newspaper in New York, Charlene Singh, contracted the disease in England.
Mad cow disease is said to originate in livestock and is transferred to humans who eat contaminated meat.
The disease reportedly killed over 140 people in England and at least ten others in other parts of Europe. Singh graduated from the University of Miami in 2001. Shortly after, she experienced symptoms, which included irritability, forgetfulness and uncharacteristic outbursts of anger. Initially diagnosed as depression, her rapid deterioration led to further diagnosis of mad cow disease. Singh was 25 years old and is survived by her parents, a brother, a sister and her grandparents.

Guyanese succumbs to Mad Cow Disease
For the record, Charlene's parents and grandparents (both sides) are from JAMAICA.
In response to Rastafari's Son @ Guyana, Buxton, I would like to first say, you sound like a arrogant a**hole and do not seem to possess an ounce of "Ras" in you. "Ras" noh deal wid dem ting deh pan dah level. To say that the death of a young women, my niece in fact is good is an insult I take very personal. Do not make judgements on issues you have no knowledge of. For your information, it was the British Government who gave birth to this devastating disease feeding cows to cows. My niece's, horrific suffering and tragic death was caused by something she ate that was contaminated as a very young child, possibly in school in England. All in the name of sheer greed and profit making.
As for the conditions in your country, what the heck do you/have you done to make a positive influence/change, except run yuh dyam mout. Ease arf ah ppl - seen.
