In a recent development, yet another Caribbean isle is caught up in Taiwan's diplomatic war against China, this time the news is from Barbados. The political war of words is in full swing, as that country gears up to host its general elections later this month. In the latest exchange, Prime Minister Owen Arthur has claimed that the Opposing Democratic Labour Party would break off the island's 30 years of diplomatic relations with China in favor of Taiwan if they were to win the general election. Arthur has also publicly accused the Taiwanese of giving financial support to the DLC. Meanwhile, leader of the Democratic Labour Party David Thompson has condemned the Prime minister for spreading what he calls a "vicious and nasty lie."
