David John Howard Thompson was this week sworn in as Barbados sixth Prime Minister. Thompson won the election for the Democratic Labour Party by a convincing 20-10 victory over the Barbados Labour Party Owen Arthur. Barbados's General election was held on Tuesday January 15th, 2008.In a brief ceremony attended by family, close friends, Government officials and political associates, Thompson took the oath of office before Governor General Sir Clifford Husbands at Government House in Barbados.
