Angry villagers have taken to the street in violent protest in an attack that they say was racially motivated. Residents of the mainly East Indian Lusignan village say that it is no coincidence that they were targetted for the attack, as the gang alleged to be responsible for the killing comes from a rival afro Guyanese community. Government officials as well as the country's Opposition have rejected the view that the attacks were racially motivated and have offered a 150,000 dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of their main suspect, Rondell Rawlins. But this is small comfort to the villagers in mourning. Some 300 people from the neighbouring town of Mon Repos started fires on the roads to Lusignan and vowed to form vigilante groups to avenge the killings.
Meanwhile, $30M reward for Fine Man capture
