Grenada's Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell has approached the Organization of American States (OAS) for assistance in procuring a computer software technician for its electoral Office. The PM's request comes on the heels of allegations that a system crash had been the cause of a number of names being missing from the voter's lists. Mitchell requested that a high level OAS delegation come to Grenada to observe the entire election period. The PM told the OAS representative that Grenada hadnot had any major problems with elections in recent times and he wanted to see the electoral process continue to be free and fair. The OAS representative responded that the problems which had surfaced at the Electoral Office had not, in his opinion, affected the integrity of the electoral process. Elections are scheduled to take place in Grenada in November 2008.
