St Vincent and the Grenadines, Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves is vigorously denying accusations that he raped a female member of the Police Force. The alleged victim claims that indecently assaulted her at the Prime Minister's Old Montrose residence on January 3, 2007.Another complaint alleges that on the same date Gonsalves had unlawful sexual intercourse with the 36 year old officer, without her consent. Meanwhile, The Prime Minister made it clear in a statement to the press tht he would defend himself "resolutely" against the charges. "I shall not give in to the politics of personal destruction which is enveloping this country and this region," the PM said. Leader of the Opposition, Eustace Arhim has called for the Prime Minister's resignation.
