The government of Trinidad and Tobago is taking action to reduce the escalating cost of living and the subsequent inflation being experienced in that southern Caribbean territory. According to Legal Affairs Minister, Peter Taylor, the Ministry of Legal Affairs has began setting up procedures in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, to ensure that something is done to combat the current situation. The Minister did not reveal details on this plan of action but stated that the government intended to implement these new measures in three weeks. This statement by the Trinidadian leader comes on the heels of a decision by CARICOM member states to remove the Common External Tariff on the import of certain goods within the region.
