Prime Minister Stephenson King has responded to claims from the Opposition that Ministers holding dual nationalities should not be allowed to serve in Parliament. The issue arose after a Supreme Court ruled in Jamaica that MP's with dual nationalities were to be disallowed within the ranks of the nations highest leadership positions. Mr King has stated that in the case of St Lucia, politicians with dual nationality would be allowed to serve in government, as this would not impede the quality or dedication of the service to the nation. Meanwhile, the ruling United Workers Party has announced plans to launch a Commission of Inquiry into the financial dealings of the former Labour administration, headed by former party leader Dr. Kenny Anthony.
