The island of Jamaica will be the beneficiary of 5 million dollars worth of free medical aid, thanks to the San Diego based volunteer organization, Miles Ahead. Members of the outreach organization arrived in Montego Bay last month, with equipment, supplies and healthcare to be administered free of charge to local Jamaicans. A medical team of specialists, surgeons, dentists and pediatricians are also expected to provide free service to local communities. The project is being facilitated via the Jamaica Ministry of Health, through the initiative of the organization's founder, Pastor Miles McPherson, a former NFL pro footballer with family ties in Jamaica. |
