CARICOM Secretary General Edwin Carrington has concluded his visit to the island of St. Martin, a northern Caribbean territory with a French and Dutch quarter. The visit to the Dutch quarter Saint Martin is the second such visit of the CARICOM head to the Netherland Antilles, in keeping with a bid to increase trade and co-operation between CARICOM and its Dutch Caribbean counterparts. While in Saint Martin, the CARICOM head discussed the enhancement of investment and trade relations, the possibility of increasing trade in agricultural products and the development of tourism and related industries. The CARICOM leader also extended an invitation for Saint Martin to attend the CARICOM Regional Agriculture Investment Forum which takes place in Guyana on June 6-7, 2008.
