Jamaica's Minister of Agriculture, Christopher Tufton has said that the fishery and aquaculture sector was playing a pivotal role in providing a livelihood for thousands of persons across the region. The Minister was addressing the launch of the European Union (EU) workshop on fishery and aquaculture standards in Kingston on Monday. Tufton said the workshop was of particular importance, as it provided an opportunity to expand and sustain existing economic activities in the sector.
