They are the same mic except the AT2050 has 3 different polar patterns. If your only gonna rec. vocals you will only need cardioid in which the AT2035 has. Be sure to get a pop filter, perferrably a double screen. Before buying protools see what DAW is going to be packaged with the Focursite. Does it have built in mic preamps?
