UK woman shot dead on honeymoon in Antigua

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

A newly wed doctor was killed and her husband is in critical condition after being shot during their honeymoon on the Caribbean island of Antigua. The couple is believed to have been fired at by intruders during a botched robbery in their cottage at a hotel during the early hours of Sunday last. Catherine Mullany, nee Bowen, a doctor of south Wales, was killed at the scene. Her husband, Benjamin, is fighting for his life in intensive care. The Foreign Office said their families had been informed, and that Antiguan police had launched an investigation.

What a shame.
What a shame.... Its sad when any life is taken, But cmon seriously A DOCTOR?!!? A person who choose to save others lives with theirs gets murdered!! Maybe if it were a drug dealer it wouldnt be such a shame. I hope that the husband makes it but sadly maybe he would rather die than live with this tragedy.

Newly wed shooting
This is outrageous.are you honetsly telling me that the Caribbean has become so out of order, that people are no longer safe to come and enjoy htheir honeymoon.....These poor individuals and their families...We share your grief and anger...I hope they solve these vicious crimes and give the assailants severe punishments..
