Trinidadian double silver medalist Richard Thompson was christened the million dollar man by Prime Minister Patrick Manning for his success at the Olympic Games in Beijing, China. At a ceremony at the Central Bank in Port of Spain, Manning told thousands of fans and well wishers that Cabinet, at a meeting, had agreed that the best reward for our nation's Olympians was a monetary one. Thompson, however, Manning said, was singled out for his double achievement.
