The US State Department has pulled the friendly plug with Venezuela after they violated procedures for acquiring new office space. Immediately after the plug was pulled Venezuelan consulate staff at the US State Dept. in Houston was asked to leave the United States. In August, Venezuela requested the department's authorization to lease new space for the consulate's offices, but rented and moved into its new quarters before getting the approval, deputy spokesman Robert Wood said. This was seen as a violation of the Foreign Missions Act; hence the friendly business ties were cut.
