Three policemen were shot outside the studio of reggae artiste Jepther Washington McClymont, better known as Luciano.
The artiste is still being interviewed by police and reports stated that depending on the outcome of the investigation, Luciano could be charged for harboring a fugitive. The shooting took place between a joint law enforcement team and a man allegedly wanted for murder who also was reportedly a part of the entertainer's security detail.
The injured policemen were part of a team conducting an operation at the premises of Luciano in Westminster Crescent in St. Andrew, when they were reportedly fired on. They returned fire and Andrew Senior, who the police say was wanted was shot. During an exchange of gunfire, the policemen were also shot.
At the end of the shooting Senior was dead and a firearm reportedly seized. Luciano shortly rushed to the scene and was taken into custody for questioning.
One of the three policemen was shot in his neck and left shoulder, the other cop was shot in his groin while the third injured cop was shot was shot in his left leg.
