Guyana's Health Minister Leslie Ramsammy, who is the President of the World Health Assembly, says Roman Catholic Pope Benedict's position against condom use will create confusion.
This statement was made after the Popes visit to Africa and he was restating the long-held position of the Catholic Church against condom use in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The Roman Catholic Church is emphasising faithfulness and no sex before marriage, as the way to tackle the AIDS problem. However Health Minister Ramsammy argues that condoms, education, abstinence and faithful relationships are all part of the artillery against HIV.
