In Jamaica, that country is leading the way for CARICOM nations in preparation for the Caribbean Single Market and Economy (CSME). The Parliament passed four bills which will open up its market to workers and companies from other Caribbean countries.
Jamaica, along with Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados will be the first countries to embark on the single market.
Under the CSME, Caricom nationals who are university graduates, media workers, sports people, musicians, artists, managers and supervisors will be allowed to work and live with their families in Caricom without the need for work permits.
