Guyana's main Opposition People's National Congress Reform (PNCR) recently organized a protest calling for an investigation by Interpol into the Government's alleged cocaine connections.
The protest action came after revelations in a New York court during a trial of self confessed drug dealer Shaheed Roger Khan.
Leading the protest which had just over 100 persons was PNCRs leader Robert Corbin. Protestors marched across the capital to the parade ground where it culminated with a rally.
Mr. Corbin led an exodus of the party's MPs after the Speaker of the National Assembly Ralph Ramkarran disallowed his application for an urgent debate on the recent testimony of Selwyn Vaughn in New York, where it was alleged that Mr. Khan had ties to a Government minister.
