Bahamian government clamps down on illegal Haitian immigrants

Thursday, January 28, 2010

The Bahamian government is clamping down on illegal immigrants in wake of the earthquake in Haiti and is warning those who are hoping to start a new life in the Bahamas not to try to enter that country illegally.

Sixty-six Haitians including three children recently appeared in court charged with entering the Bahamas illegally. They have been detained indefinitely because the government is unwilling to send them back to the devastation in Port-au-Prince.

The move to hold the group is a direct warning to other Haitians thinking about seeking refuge in the Bahamas illegally.
Bahamian Prime Minister Hughbert Ingram recently granted amnesty to 102 illegal Haitian migrants so they can assist their relatives in Haiti.

DONT WATCH NUTTIN
Ask ya self if you let complete strangers just show up and live in ya place??? It is a way to do things, keep the illegal stuff away from Bahamas. love is the way, but guidance and rules need to be implemented....the Bahamas population is 350,000 (not even a half a mil)....we can't let 50,000 Haitians just come...everything got to be mapped out, otherwise as the the Haitian community has previously shown in the BAHAMAS (especially in a time like this) they will try to take ova using VIOLENCE...take that somewhere else. All Haitians wit love in they heart are welcomed...all others go mash somewhere else down....(go by one of dem places that claim Bahamas wrong for the wrong issue) LOVE IS THE SOLUTION

Haitians Immigration
There will never be such a thing as true freedom in that sense. Without passports 9/11's may happen all over. Things are tough in the Bahamas as is, it's getting harder and harder to find jobs. We are a small nation and letting to many immigrants run freely through our waters will only lead the bahamas in the same poverty as Haiti. We should work with Haiti, build a friendship and find some way to forge a strong economical alliance. But not let people run astray in our country.

Immigration
If we are free why do we need passports to travel? It's just another form of control and slavery. If we were truly free we would be able to go anywhere at any time by any means of transportation of choice.

Haitians Immigration
Allow the Haitians into Bahamas "illegally" because we all as black people need to unite and stop bait each other up to the white people. If anything all the islands should be smuggling Haitians for free.
