Shots were fired on the office of Belize's Prime Minister Dean Barrow Thursday morning. At least two bullets shattered windows in the attack.
Prime Minister Barrow said the motive for the shooting is unclear.
"I don't know whether this was a deliberate attack on the building or what message if that was the case, people were trying to send with this attack or whether it was just somebody playing the fool. The police are investigating but it's difficult to speak about any possible motive because the pictures are unclear at the moment,' he said.
Belize has seen an increase in crime and violence in recent weeks which has reportedly paralysed some areas.
