Wyclef Running for President

Friday, August 6, 2010

Haitian-American hip-hop singer Wyclef Jean, filed papers on Thursday to run for president of Haiti. Several hundred supporters cheered as he arrived by motorcade at an electoral office in the capital, Port-au-Prince, still largely in ruins from the Jan. 12 earthquake. The United States has Barack Obama, and Haiti has Wyclef Jean, he shouted. His candidacy must still be approved by a review board to verify that he meets constitutional requirements, including having lived in Haiti for the five years before the election and never having held foreign citizenship. Mr. Jean, who was born in Haiti but raised in Brooklyn, has said his appointment as a roving ambassador by President Ren Prval exempts him from the residency requirement.AP

Nice read, I just passed this onto a cuglealoe who was doing some research on that. And he just bought me lunch as I found it for him smile Therefore let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch! We strain to renew our capacity for wonder, to shock ourselves into astonishment once again. by Shana Alexander.

President for Haiti- Wycelf
As much as I am a Jamaican and an american citizen 20 yrs now its about time Haiti think out the box, as a musician he has a vision through the pain and suffering of his people. If you dont know how hungry feels like, don't comment. He stepped up to the plate. Just like in the United Stated we never dreamed that one day we would have a black president -- it's same way we can believe that one day Haiti will rise from poverty .Other countries will follow their lead of electing a leader with faith and no corruption in their mind.

Import Oprah for President!!
Tell me what can dis bloody fool do for the suffering in Haiti?? Maybe sing a few songs will take away their hunger and poverty!!
Haiti needs an honest, smart, intellectual woman to govern it.
I will suggest that they seek outside canidate for the job - Condalesa Rice, Hillary Kilntan, Oprah are all potential canidates.
