Antigua & Barbuda citizens in search of employment are failing to do their part, even
though the labour department ensures citizens are given preference for employment
opportunities on the island. This is according to Antigua & Barbuda Senior Labour Officer
Elthonia Rojas.
Rojas says locals are quite sluggish in responding to job advertisements placed in
newspapers and flies in the face of all the continued efforts of the labour department to
ensure Antiguans and Barbudans are given attractive employment opportunities.
The senior labour officer said strict regulations are enforced before work permits are
granted for non-Antiguans and Barbudans. |
