Jamaican Dancehall Artiste Mavado was found guilty of assault and causing grievous bodily harm when he appeared in the Montego Bay Registrate Magistrate Court on Monday, May 7.
He was fined $80,000 or six months in prison.
He was also charged with malicious destruction of property or pay a fine of $20,000 or six months in jail.
The sentences are to run concurrently.
Mavado, whose real name is David Brooks, was on trial for malicious destruction of property, following an incident last year in the Belmont, St James, Jamaica. He was accused of being part of a group that attacked two men following a motor vehicle accident.
