Tuesday, June 5, 2012

A 23-year-old Guyanese man Christopher Husbands, who is the main suspect in the weekend attack at the Toronto Eaton Mall, was charged with first-degree murder and six counts of attempted murder.
Toronto police detective, said in a media briefing on Sunday that investigation "clearly suggests that this is a targeted shooting and not a random act of violence against the members of the general public."
Witnesses said multiple shots were fired in the mall's food court and that hundreds of panicked shoppers sprinted for the exits.
Husbands reportedly killed his intended target, 24 year old Ahmed Hassan.
The six people who were wounded by the stray gunfire in the mall?s food court were bystanders.
