Jamaica has offered four scholarships to the government of Haiti, at the island's HEART/NTA institutions as well as two scholarships at the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE).
The six scholarships are part of the agreement during the three-day state visit of Haitian President Michel Martelly, last week.
Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller said the parties discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations and mutually beneficial initiatives aimed at increasing co-operation between the two states.
She said the historic and timely meeting was "conducted in an atmosphere of friendship, co-operation and mutual respect and provided the impetus needed to significantly advance the bilateral co-operation between Jamaica and Haiti in a number of areas." |
