The murder toll in Trinidad and Tobago has risen to 32 in 17 days after four men have been discovered dead in separate incidents.
On Thursday, January 16, the decomposing body of a Rio Claro gardener, Abass Mohammed was discovered. Mohammed, 60, was found with a wound to his head after police were called to Pinder Trace, Rio Claro around 6:30 pm Autopsy concluded that he died of multiple chop wounds.
Around 7:30, Clevon Manswell, 27, was shot dead at Belmont Valley Road and a mere half hour later, Dion Mitchell, 27, was shot and killed while at a friend?s home at Phase Seven, La Horquetta.
The following day, Friday 17th , police were called to the Trinidad Cement Limited Recreation Ground in Claxton Bay where the body of an unidentified man was found with a bullet wound to his chest. Witnesses have told police that the man, believed to be in his late 20?s was earlier seen sitting on the stairs of the pavilion speaking on a cell phone. Residents later saw a man fleeing the scene after hearing the sound of a gunshot.
No arrests have been made in any of the homicide investigations.
