Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel, real name, Adidja Palmer, has officially been found guilty of the murder of Clive "Lizard" Williams. An eleven-member jury gave Kartel and co-accused Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St John the guilty verdict after a 65 day trial. The co-accused Shane Williams was found not guilty.
Kartel, 38, and his co-accused went on trial on November 20 in the Home Circuit Court.
At first, the jurors deliberated for 1 hour and 53 minutes before returning to the courtroom with a 10-1 verdict. Since the verdict was speedy and not unanimous, they went back to reconsider and emerged with the new verdict.
Allegedly, "Lizard" was beaten to death at Kartel's home over two missing guns on August 16, 2011. All those found guilty must return to court on March 27 for sentencing.
