Ace sprinter Usain Bolt has made an appeal on Twitter for the return of a pair of his running shoes that were recently stolen in South London. The spikes signed by Bolt and framed for display with a photo of the athlete after he set the 100-metre world record in 2009 was stolen in April.
Bolt?s first tweet came at approximately midday and was accompanied by a picture of a story about the stolen shoes. The orange Puma shoes were reportedly auctioned off during a sporting memorabilia sale at Sotheby?s in November 2012 and are valued at about ?20,000.
He tweeted saying that all the person needed to do was ask him for one and there was no need to go stealing. He later posted another photo of him signing new pairs of shoes tweeting that he was going to FedEx then to London later.
