Travelers leaving Antigua & Barbuda will pay increased departure taxes as part of the revenue generating measure to fund the financing of the airport development project.
Sources close to the Cabinet revealed that this was one of the measures put forward by the Joseph Gatt team when it met with members of the Government.
The developers plan to introduce a $27 levy, thats 10 U.S dollars in addition to the $35 that citizens and Caricom nationals already pay as departure tax.
