Students at the University of the West Indies in Barbados have accused the administration of not consulting them on a decision to charge a $350 U.S dollar increase in the amenities fee from the next academic year.
Cave Hill campus principal Professor Hilary Beckles made the announcement about the fee which prompted students to boycott classes early last week.
Students' Guild president Kenneth Bobb said while the students are not against the introduction of a fee to improve campus services and amenities, they are not happy about the "autocratic" manner in which it was done.
