Plans to establish a Muslim village in Trinidad and Tobago is currently under way. Maulana Imran Hosein, the man behind the plan, gave a lecture on the establishment of the Muslim Village during a public session at the San Fernando Technical Institute last week. Hosein, Who was earlier this year accused by the country's largest Muslim organization, ASJA, of promoting "terrorist-type" ideologies, believes that the plan will protect and preserve Islam from the ills of society such as alcohol, fornication, adultery, illegitimate children, and homosexuality. According to Hosein, the Village will establish its own primary and secondary school for Muslims only.
