Persons using certain services provided by the Barbados Immigration Department had to pay increased fees from Monday, March 21.
Acting Chief Immigration Officer, Marva Farmer, said that the increase would affect the various forms of status, like citizenship, permanent residence and immigrant status. The fee on application would now be $200 and the final fee $800. As for work permits, the application fee would increase to $200, but the hike in the final fee would be determined by several factors, including category of occupation and length of time granted.
