The Lieutenant Governor of St. Maarten, Franklyn Richards, has called for the introduction of uniform visa requirement policies across the Caribbean to help fight human smuggling and trafficking.
Richards, according to the local newspapers, made the call at the Counter trafficking strategies conference, held in Washington.
He also called for the most effective strategies to discourage people from organizing human smuggling or trafficking, and for government and non-governmental agencies to build strong partnerships.
