Moms take charge - Fed up with criminal sons, spouses

Monday, April 18, 2005

Jamaicas crime rate continues to soar. More than 450 people have already been murdered since the start of the year. But a group of frustrated mothers have decided to take a stand. Theyve declared their limit and say they can take the violence no more.
The group is called Mother in Crisis, and it is headed by Doreen Billings, a tough-talking mother of three.
The women say their aim is to use their influence as mothers, to empower others with tips on how to get their loved ones back on track. By so doing, the group is confident that the crime rate will be significantly decreased.
The group members say that for far too long, Jamaican women have remained silent, while their sons and partners commit vicious crimes. Now, they say, the time has come for women to "put their feet down, and stop the bloodshed,".

TEACH THE YOUTH RIGHTS BY FORCE
I think the government of jamaica need to go into all the inner city take out all the unemployed young men who are prone to voilence and automaticaly put them into the army.In this case they'll learn dicipline and try to help the comunity. Seriously they need to look into implementing this as soon as possible

mothers in pain
just remember its not the youths or the jamaican people to blame, it is the government of jamaica, united states of america, and the queen of england, they fucked up everyting, now the solution to the problem i dont know, because youth dem will stop fire de matic, but uncle sam ago still ship smith and wesson com ina di island, we need ganja to legalised so the yute dem can cultivate it mek money the government can sell it to amerika and england and the that money could be used for SCHOOLS,PEN AND PAPER, not german luger, slr, mattic, specie etc.

Its Quite refreshing!
Its quite refreshing to see that someone has had enough. This ungoing violence that perpetuates the down fall of Jamaica has to stop. The nonsensical killings are asbsolutely disturbing. Peace people and put God first that the only way that a change will come about.

I am overwhelm with joy
It bring me great joy to know that the mothers of Jamiaca is taking action against such nonsense. I moved to florida when i was 12 in 97 and i can't believe the maddness that is going on down there. The jamaica i know and love was full of pride, love, peace and harmony. but now a days all people seem to care about is their self, what ever happened to brotherly love, being your brothers keeper and living a life to please the Lord Jesus Christ. I remember the days so clearly, when you couldn't even pass your neighbor on the street without saying good morning or hello, but now it seems like if you spit on someone thats a compliment, all that i have to say is lord have mercy on Jamaica, please take us back to where we once were... Amen

Inquity and violence on the Streets of de City
PJ and PNP too confrontatinal and too much Jamaicans in Jamaica goes for licky-lickiness and laziness. Too much crime and violence and bad-living going on; How could one be comfortable as Prime Minister, seeing so many Jamaicans die-ing needlessly in violence, while he and Peter Philips, Davis, etc sipped champagne ,drink dem rum, bun fat cigars and gillant, with how much ,money dem have; While they planned to break up de peace in West Kingston, to take off the media from heinous killings in Matthew[Matches ]Lane and Bayshore Park; Oh, what a pity, when inquity, take over the City!Jah Know. The demonisation politcs of PNP has destroyed the respectability in the country.
