Haiti's foreign minister has met with his Trinidadian counterpart in an effort to persuade the Caribbean Community to end the ailing nations suspension from the regional bloc, since the ouster of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide more than a year ago.
Foreign Minister Herard Abraham promised to travel to all CARICOM member states to explain to them, Haitis position. After Trinidad he was expected to move on to Barbados to meet with that country's foreign minister, Billie Miller.
Minister Abraham wants Haiti to be a part of July's CARICOM Heads of Government Summit.
