Haiti's former Prime Minister Yvon Neptune who reigned under ousted President Jean Bertrand Aristide may be ready to die. His hunger strike is way past 21 days and he's too weak to stand and pounds lighter.
His lawyer Mario Joseph said Haiti's interim government is waiting for the detained politician to go into a coma to forcibly remove him from the country.
Joseph told the Associated Press Mr. Neptune maintains he will only agree to medical evacuation if the government frees him unconditionally. Hes been detained for the last 10 months without charge in connection with political killings during the 2004 rebellion.
