The daughter of Trinidads jailed Opposition Leader, Basdeo Panday is calling on the younger members of her fathers party to join the struggle.
Twenty-seven year old Mikela Panday flew back to Trinidad from London to proclaim her fathers innocence saying, I quote my father sits in his cell, not knowing whether it is morning or afternoon, he has no watch, no natural light, he hasn't seen the sun in days. Innocent, yet incarcerated. Panday is being held in Trinidads maximum security prison in Arouca, East Trinidad. He is charged along with his wife and two other party members, with corruption.
The young Panday shows her fathers penchant for politics. She delivered her maiden speech at his Couva North constituency office in Chase Village.
Sunday Pandays United National Congress party hosted a motorcade, that passed near the prison Panday was being held.
