Famed son of the Caribbean, Harry Belafonte, is reminding those of Caribbean heritage of their common history. He was the keynote speaker at a symposium to address issues facing the Caribbean community both in the U.S and abroad.
Panels of the Symposium dealt with issues like immigration, business opportunities and disaster preparedness.
Belafontes career includes lead roles in movies and the theater as well as making the first calypso album that sold a million copies. A past confidant of the late Dr. Martin Luther king, Jr., he continues to speak out on the rights of children and the disenfranchised.
