The dispute between Barbados and St Vincent over the shipping of illegal drugs has reached a new level. The Prime Ministers of the two islands have joined the fray.
We reported last week that Barbados' Prime Minster Owen Arthur suggested that his counterpart from St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, was not doing enough to address his country's shipping of illegal drugs to Barbados.
But Mr. Gonsalves in an angry response claims Mr. Arthur is "dead wrong." The St Vincent Prime Minister told OECS Heads of Government Mr. Arthur had insulted the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines and their Prime Minister.
According to the Barbadian leader, more than 80 per cent of the marijuana entering Barbados comes from St Vincent.
