The high-tech blimp that suddenly appeared in the sky causing panic among some Trinidadian residents, cost $40 million and is the latest government initiative to arrest the spiralling crime situation.
The spyship, as it is being called by local news reporters, was bought in the United States, and shipped to the twin-island two months ago.
The blimp has radar equipment which can listen in on cellular phone calls and detect any illegal maritime activity.
It is understood that American officials are in Trinidad and Tobago to carry out test runs.
