President Bharrat Jagdeo has gained the top number of votes at the ruling People Progressive Party, (PPP) Central Committee elections.
He rattled up 650 votes, followed by former President Mrs Janet Jagan at 621. Noticeably missing from this years polls was customary top performer, Moses Nagamootoo. Nagamootoo decided to stay away this year following a high-voltage row with party executives. Also missing from this year's line-up was Khemraj Ramjattan. He was expelled from the party and has since formed a new grouping.
Among the new names on the Central Committee are Public Service Minister, Jennifer Westford, Human Services Minister, Bibi Shadick and attorney, Anil Nandlall.
