Antigua's Justcice Minister Colin Derrick has announced officials under the former Antigua-Barbuda Government will be arrested. Already the current administration has taken legal action against one ALP Parliamentarian for the City West Constituency, Gaston Browne, who trounced the Justice Minister in the last election.
During the 2004 general election campaign, the Baldwin Spencer-led United Progressive Party (UPP) accused the then ruling Antigua Labour Party (ALP) of years of massive corruption in office. The UPP promised, if successful at the polls, everything done wrong under the ALP would be put right.
Upon taking office, the Spencer-led Administration has sought to keep that pre-election promise and has launched a number of investigations into several "questionable transactions" made under the ALP's tenure.
