GRA to provide duty and tax-free concession to legitimate private sector businesses

The Guyana Revenue Authority is trying to provide duty and tax-free concessions on surveillance equipment to legitimate businesses given a spate of recent robberies.
But businesses applying for concessions under this special grant have to satisfy the basic criteria of being registered. They also have to provide proof of tax and national insurance scheme compliance.
Businesses that are interested in accessing this concession have to apply to the Commissioner-General of the Guyana Revenue Authority. After the application is submitted it has to be sent to the Private Sector Commission or any other relevant bodies for certification of legitimacy.
Recently, there has been an increase in demand by the business community to use surveillance equipment, including cameras and monitors.
This move is set to complement other security measures being adapted by Government and businesses around the country.
