It is unlikely that Guyanese airline, Universal Airlines will continue operations as the Guyana government has moved in to use up the airlines bond to get stranded passengers to their destinations.
Universal shut down its offices in Guyana, New York, Toronto, and Trinidad and Tobago as angry passengers voiced concerns about the airlines cancellation of its international flights after its leasing company pulled out of the deal with Universal, taking its aircraft along with it.
Universal was leasing an a320 airbus from TACA airlines of El Salvador. TACA pulled out of the deal just over two weeks ago saying it could no longer continue its relationship with Universal.
That move by TACA airlines left Universal without an aircraft and hundreds of stranded passengers on both sides of the Atlantic.
