Jungle Justice! No surety in maximum security

Monday, October 3, 2005

The Jamaica prison system is being rocked by a new wave, something they call "jungle justice" Bloodthirsty and disgruntled family members, still affected by the brutal slayings of their loved ones, have been paying prisoners to kill other inmates in the island's penal institutions.
Sources close to the prison system told a local newspaper, this form of vigilante justice is available to those who can afford it. It is taking root because the death and life sentences levied against the perpetrators have not appeased the wrath of the many family members and friends whose loved ones lives were callously snuffed out.
The burning desire for retribution is also exacerbated by the fact that those sentenced to death are unlikely to swing from the hangman's noose anytime soon. No condemned person has been hanged in almost 20 years.

A Fed up Jamaican!
I get really discourage of my fellow Jamaican people..Yes judge me;but like most others who are experiencing the embarrassment from Jamaicans not only in Jamaica; but here in the US. They act really 'gehtto "and doesn't serve a purpose in the country ..Alot of people would love the opportunity of coming to America to try and better their lives. They would love to take the place of these so-called "hype or badadan" people. Their only interest is to "bling" what they have and don't have . Why travel so far to do that when they can do it in their own back yard in the "gehtto" of Jamaica. They disgust me "sooo" much. Yes I'm "Fly" too so it's not jealousy :because I went to school , have a good job and made the best out of life and (America).Peace out!

if they can deliver, dem mus can recieve
If you have di heart fi kill somebody you must be ready to die at any time, without fear. If jungle justice is persued, then murderers will be afraid to go to prison, hence afraid to kill. I don't think that a murderer should be pitied, unless there is a perfectly good reason.

The system is going crazy
That's what I call crazy. Eye for an eye. I don't belief in that nonsense. People are starting to loose their composure. Law enforcers should keep a proper watch on the correctional faculities.

Death? Forgiveness...
So what if we put them to death? Does it really do any good? The person who you mourn for will not return. Think about that murderer who just murdered your friend or family. Does he really deserve to die that way? What he did wasn't right, but send him in jail; let him sit in theerre evry day and think about what he's done. Then he can ask God for forgiveness. Only then can we all feel at peace with ourselves. Knowing that he's paying for his sins, but is making it up with God.

Only God can judge him.

jungle justice
taking a life for another is not the answer. But JA should find a better way of dealing with those who are sentence to the prison system. Too much sitting aroung waiting. A few years of waiting, then put to death. Just then, maybe other family members wouldn't be paying to have them killed.

Violence is not solved with violence
I understand the feeling of wanting some type of revenge on the person who took the life of a loved one, but having them killed is not the answer. What goes around comes around and in time they will get what they deserved.

Our DEliverer
God will never give us more than we can bear. Death isn't the answer to any problem. We must have faith and believe that there is a deliverer and when we call he'll be right there to deliver us.
