Rice meets Haiti leaders

Monday, October 3, 2005

American Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice described Haiti's upcoming elections as maybe a turning point after months of violence and unrest.
During a brief visit to the troubled nation, Ms. Rice, called on the Haitian authorities to do more to prepare for the elections. She said they needed to be inclusive and fair. The US Secretary of State said in a country ruined by violence from the gun, the people of Haiti had no more powerful a weapon than the power to vote.
She urged the Haitian people to register to vote. So far just half of the country's electorate has done so.
Legislative and presidential elections in Haiti are scheduled for next month. The elections will be the first since the overthrow of the country's first democratically elected president, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, eighteen months ago.

Help What
The US know that they are just there to cause trouble. Haiti has no economical or capitalists matter for the US whatsoever. They better stop fooling themsleves about trying to help. It's just an excuse to go down to haiti and dump the guns into the country so the people can kill off each other.

KNOW THE TRUTH AND STOP BELEAVEING
I think you need to understand when countrys like American and develope European country say help, its buisness for them, what ever is needed to build the country inferstructure, contracts are given to there countrys, economically thats no help,if they give you money they take it back threw loan intrest, from because colonalisim have third world countrys playing catch up.if they really want to help they should wipe out dept and stop forceing the third world countrys to trade with America and europe because they can't compete.

Let them help
I understand what you're saying about the other countries stauing out of haiti's business but if they want to help then they should be able to. But haiti do need to wake up and stop letting other people think that the battle we fought for our independence was a waste.
