The Jamica Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) sent teams out early this week to conduct damage assessment across the island. This followed a week of heavy rains which flooded several communities across the island.
Up to newstime, 154 people remained in shelters. But the O.D.P.E.M was trying to determine the status of people who had to leave shelters because of the reopening of schools.
The National Works Agency (NWA) said about 50 per cent of the roads blocked because of flood waters associated with Hurricane Wilma, were cleared
